Well not many people would say that they love being hairy, some would say that it hinders what they want to do/achieve.

A most definite YES, with more and more men concerned about their appearance and going to the gym to keep fit they are now purchasing beauty products which would have never been heard of years ago, but also in this regular regime includes getting rid of unwanted hair and discovering the benefits of smooth, hair free skin. The most popular way is waxing. Men of all ages are now looking after themselves from their teens through to their 60s/70s.

Literally you can get anywhere waxed from your eyebrows down to your toes and everything in between!

Also known as back, sack and crack. A Brazilian is where the hair is removed from the groin, penis, scrotum, buttocks and a strip/shaped pubic hair above the penis and anal area. A Hollywood is where all the hair is removed from all the areas described earlier.

The Perron Rigot waxes are used. We use both the soft strip wax and hard peelable wax depending on the areas of treatment. These are the best on the market and give our customers the best comfort possible whilst having your treatment done. Cheaper waxes are much harsher and you may have probably found this out in the past.

This will be carried out by Dawn King who has been waxing for years and has been fully trained and specialises in the art of intimate waxing as well as full body and face waxing.

If you come straight from work/come for an intimate wax you will be offered wipes to freshen the areas up before proceeding.
The area will be cleansed then a very light covering of oil to stop the hairs pulling the skin on removal. We cover the area with warm wax – either soft wax (taken off with paper strips) or hard wax (which sets on the skin and shrink wraps the hair then is peeled off by hand) depending on the area waxed or possibly a combination of the two – then the hairs are removed from the root.
Hard wax is normally used on the intimate areas/more sensitive areas. If you require the hard wax to be used in other areas then ask for a quote as this will be a higher cost due to more wax and time used.

With all waxing Dawn uses gloves for a more hygienic wax.

Here at the male waxing company I understand that there are normal physiological responses to having ones intimate areas touched (I always wear gloves) and there isn't any reason to be embarrassed in the event that this happens. This rarely happens as a majority are normally anxious about the whole waxing experience but there have been the odd occasions where this has happened and as a professional I normally carry on with the process.

It is like a quick smack/sting on the skin that quickly disappears. This really depends on your pain threshold, everyone is different and it becomes more comfortable the more that you have the treatment done. A lot of customers often say that it's not a painful as they thought.
Because we specialise in waxing and have been waxing for years we know what to do to make it more comfortable for our customers.

If you have sunburnt, chaffed or broken skin then we are unable to remove hair from that area. Skin that has been treated with steroid creams, Retin-A, Differin or other retinoid acne products with the last three months we are not able to do. Customers taking Roaccutane must wait 6 months after finishing their medication before a treatment. Also contagious skin conditions we are not able to wax until it is completely cleared up.

There could be a slight soreness but we usually apply a calming gel and after wax lotion to take any redness/soreness away. It is not uncommon for red pimples to appear after waxing or small white spots especially if it is your first wax. These will normally disappear after between 1-4 days. Using an antibacterial skin wash or adding a cup of Dead Sea salts to your bathwater will help prevent infection over the next few days, and will also assist the healing process should any pimples appear.

If possible if you could shower beforehand and also 3-4 days beforehand exfoliate to get rid of any dead skin cells and brings any shorter hairs to the surface and thus makes us able to get as many hairs as possible. Do not shave or trim the area for about 3 weeks before a wax. The hair needs to be approximately 1 cm in length, if longer then we can trim on the day if necessary.

This is what you should avoid for the next 24-48hrs:

  • No heat and friction
  • No hot baths or showers (washing with cool or lukewarm water is fine)
  • No sunbathing
  • No saunas, hot tubs or steam rooms
  • No massage, sunbeds or spray tans
  • No exercise
  • No tight clothing that might cause excessive skin rubbing.
  • No swimming
  • No use of fragranced body lotions or sprays.

We recommend applying an antiseptic cream (available from your therapist) to the freshly waxed area regularly for 3 days, to soothe and protect the skin. To help prevent ingrown hairs which can be quite common, scrub with a loofah or exfoliating mitt 3 times a week in the bath or shower, then follow with a light moisturiser – recommended is the organics outback hand and body lotion. It is always best to use a moisturiser (suitable for after waxing) as the skin can become dry.
